SARS was a campaign created and run by Joshua Pawlicki and Ben Swiatek, aimed to playtest their Token RPG ruleset. It was primarily PvP and was designed to explore both the dynamics of a PvP campaign and the implications of a ruleset on a campaign.

SARS was abandoned at the end of July 2009 when Joshua Pawlicki went on vacation.

Summary

Consuela, a famous merchant-woman, has been spreading rumors that the wizards that live to the southeast are capable of controlling people by taking their soul orbs. Since this is exactly the truth, two wizards (Eidale and Eladie (of no relation to Eladi Minerson of Open Skies)) hire the PCs to steal her orb so that they may obtain control over her and reverse the damage to their secrecy. The players attempt a robbery, and are successful, but are later attacked by a rogue wizard who shatters the orb, causing fragments of Consuela's soul to enter the players orbs. When Eidale and Eladie show up to meet the players, they deliver an ultimatum: four of the seven player's orbs must be handed over, or they will simply take them all by force.

The campaign continues with the antics of the players attempting to steal, manipulate, trick, and mug the other players to obtain their orbs.

Characters

Themes

SARS focused primarily on Token and PvP. As a result, it had some arbitrary constraints built in to the campaign to prevent the players from killing each other directly (and thus ending the campaign).

SARS suffered from a lack of focus, poor attendance, and a very limited time-frame.
