Open Skies
| ||||||||||||||||||
Open Skies is a campaign created and run by Joshua Pawlicki. It is the second of the Moonlit Dawn campaigns, and revolves around the player characters' interactions and ascent to power during the discovery of a new continent.
Following the unification of the known world, the players are entrusted with the less desirable warriors of the Empire of the Sun and sent across the sea to discover what they will. Set in a classic high-fantasy setting, the campaign was meant to be visually bright and open ended.

Setting
In the year 1675, the tropical land of Cimmeria is still getting used to its recent unification under the banner of the Empire of the Sun, and its new allegiances to the Golden Tower. Eladi Minerson, now the Emperor of virtually the entire civilized world, has his hands full keeping the newborn union intact, while across the ocean the decay of the Crescent Empire and genocide of the Elves nears completion. The Golden Council, ruling senate of the Empire of the Sun, orders the remnants of the Unification Army, for whatever reason, to cross the sea and expand the reach of the Empire, while the Wizards concentrate on domestic problems. The campaign began on September 8th, 1675, when the fleet of the Empire of the Sun sailed west to new lands.
Knowledge System
In spirit of the experimental style of the campaign, the players of Open Skies were not given a full setting document. Rather, they were given a very broad picture of the setting which was coupled with the option to expand their knowledge by purchasing ranks in the knowledge skills and rolling against DCs for information bits stored on this website. A complete list of the information bits can be found at the category page.
