History

Dvalinn Ironspear was born on March 19th, 1585, in the Cimmerian Delve. It became clear during his youth that he sought conflict, and thus he was enrolled for his apprenticeship among the Dwarven Defenders. During his apprenticeship his masters praised his martial proficiency and his leadership ability, but scolded him about his aggressive nature and lack of respect. Despite completing his training and apprenticeship with flying colors, he failed the Defender entry test due to his bad temper, meager patience, and failure to attempt diplomatic resolutions. His failure to enter the Defenders coincided with the dissolution of his first marriage.

Dvalinn left the Delve and quickly rose to power in Rafha as a military commander. He advised the government to surrender to Eladi Minerson during the Cimmerian Unification War without bloodshed, and has since worked for the Empire of the Sun. He was instrumental in several of the battles of the northern front, earning him the unique designation of Flame of the North. During the war, he founded his own Ironspear clan (with the blessing of the Delve), which grew to become the largest (if not the most politically powerful) clan of the days of the war.

Campaign Role

Dvalinn the General

On September 8th, 1675, the greater portion of the post-Unification Navy of the Empire of the Sun set sail westward on orders from Grand Wizard Eladi, with Junah Narjis Al-Hufuf Ibn Abdul-Malik and Dvalinn in joint command. Dvalinn's acceptance of the mission cause the dissolution of his second marriage.

Personality

Dvalinn is famous for his constant sarcasm, bad attitude, and abusiveness. Though he is fiercely loyal to those under his command, he does not show it by words but rather by action. He compliments those he admires, and insults those that he hates with absolutely no regard for tact, diplomacy, or manners. Understandably, this has earned him several friends and many enemies. Dvalinn has never been known to talk a situation out when bashing a head could get the job done.

Appearance

As an adult, Dvalinn was typical of dwarfs: he had pale, slightly yellowed skin, and an intricate black beard. He had shaggy black hair that he shaved during the war, and was three feet and ten inches tall, with brown eyes.

As an warrior, Dvalinn typically dressed in tan trousers and shirt. In battle, he would cover himself head to toe in heavy spiked armor, and carried several sharply-cut iron pipes.
