Caitlín ó Faoláin

Caitlín ó Faoláin is the character played by Joshua Pawlicki in the Countdown campaign. Commonly known as Kate Whelan, she is the younger sister of Ruaidhrí ó Faoláin, Chief of Police.

Physical Traits
Kate suffers from significant X-inactivation in the cells associated with the left side of her face and neck. This condition has resulted in heterocromatism in her eyes (right hazel, left blue). It is also responsible for the manifestation of two X-recessive genetic diseases that she carries: ichthyosis and green colour-blindness (in her left eye).
Kate is five feet and six inches tall, with copper/red-coloured hair and different colour eyes. She has light skin prone to freckling, and dry skin often forms miniature (~6mm) scales on the left half of her face and neck. She has thin eyebrows and applies make-up sparingly, usually dressing in light colors and (if weather permits) light clothing. She is barefoot more often than not. Her hair is wavy and kept at shoulder length.
Kate has a tattoo of an osprey across her back.
Mental Traits
Kate is a an existentialist, though she's not aware that her philosophy has a name. She doesn't believe that there is any external meaning in things that a person doesn't assign to it; and consequently, that what is and isn't important depends on who you ask. This isn't postmodernist thought, however: she does believe in objective truth and a static state of the universe, not to mention the value of consistent communication.
Kate is an extrovert. She is assertive, has no self-esteem deficiency, and is more likely to laugh off an insult or attempt a witty retort than to take it personally. She makes distant friends easily, but hesitates to make close friends, and generally hesitates to trust people.
